Shenick is the First Test Vendor to Deliver Complete TWAMP for Per-flow, Real-time Measurement
TWAMP Helps Ensure QoS and
QoE for IP Service Level Agreements
Burlingame,
Calif., – December 01, 2008 -
Shenick Network Systems, provider of per-flow IP communication test and
monitoring systems, announced that it is the first and only vendor to
offer complete two way active measurement protocol (TWAMP) measurement
and testing capability as standardized by the Internet Engineering Task
Force (IETF) in RFC5357. Multiple service providers and
equipment
vendors are using Shenick’s diversifEye™ to verify,
in
real-time, the TWAMP functionality and performance of TWAMP enabled
network elements and management servers.
The TWAMP protocol defines a flexible method for measuring round-trip
IP performance among any two devices in a network that supports the
standard, such as measuring time delay on a call. With TWAMP, service
providers and equipment vendors can identify the congested parts of a
network and confidently develop IP service level agreements
(SLA’s). Shenick’s complete TWAMP capabilities give
equipment vendors the tools to verify the functionality of their TWAMP
implementations prior to customer acceptance testing. For
service
providers, Shenick’s TWAMP capabilities provide a means for
conducting vendor interoperability and large scale system testing prior
to TWAMP network deployment.
Olga Yashkova, communication test sector analyst, Frost &
Sullivan
commented "With TWAMP, Shenick offers telecom operators and networking
providers not only a means for identifying network congestion, but also
for testing enhancements to IP SLA's across the industry. It
leads to greater efficiencies across the networking and IP services
market, a lower cost and greater ease of use by avoiding multiple test
systems and non integrated software applications."
“Shenick is the first vendor to offer the benefits of
complete
TWAMP test to the market. We already work with the
industry’s leading telecom operators, and network equipment
manufacturers to help them test, in real time, the performance of each
network link for thousands of individual network nodes. (See release:
Shenick
Extends the Power of Full TWAMP Compliance Testing to
Ciena).” said Robert Winters, chief marketing
officer, Shenick
Network Systems. “The benefit with TWAMP is that we
now
have an industry-wide IP SLA standard that means we can check the pulse
of every part of a network. The real winner is the end user
who
gets a great quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE)
for everything from using the Internet, to downloading video or making
voice calls across the Web.”
TWAMP enables carriers to test each node in a network for ultimate end
user QoS, giving networks a “health
check”.
Shenick’s diversifEye is a completely integrated high
performance
test system that provides both network operators and communications
equipment manufacturers with the ability to create and test the most
realistic converged IP application usage scenarios covering QoS,
individual subscriber experience, functional verification, high load
and key performance limitations.
