Remote Network Quality Testing

servicEye Spider provides Remote Network Test with centralised management and control - tap into the power of a sophisticated lab tester from multiple sites.

Stateful Applications

servicEye Spider Clients are fully stateful, providing realistic user activity on the network. In addition, servicEye delivers a vast array of unique performance metrics per application.

Regulatory Conformance Testing

servicEye Spider creates exact loads with precision timings. The Spider server calculates the difference between counter nodes and the precise time specifications of the Spider clients.

servicEye Spider™ is a customer premises based IP multiservice quality assurance solution providing per application performance and QoE metrics with centralized management and control.

servicEye Spider is ....

A web managed Network Analysis Solution, collecting results from remote end-points or Spider clients.
Used to test service performance and media quality i.e. Telepresence, IPTV, VoIP, web, email, etc..
A software solution consisting of a server and client software modules. Spider Clients and Server are hardware independent.
A solution with centrally managed remote clients. From the centrally located Spider Server take control of any Spider client.
IPv4 and IPv6 compliant. Test with mixed traffic flows of IPv4 and/or IPv6. Support for Dual Stack Lite and 6rd.
Network Access independent. Test fixed line xDSL, xPON, CMTS or wireless IMS, WiMAX, LTE, etc..
A proactive quality testing solution, providing analysis of individual emulated subscribers.

The centrally collected data can be used by various groups who are focused on service quality and reliability, reducing churn and increasing revenue:

Tier 1 Support - NOC engineers monitoring services or application performance from the central location can initiate early investigations when performance issues are first raised. From the NOC, engineers can assess performance by running pre-defined tests on remote network locations.
Regulatory Compliance - Assess service reliability and timing accuracy, ensure time stamps recorded per application usage are accurate and in accordance with billing regulations.
Field Support - by using a centralized management solution all tests in the remote field are up to date and standardized with each support engineer. In addition all L2-7 multi-play tests, diagnostics and monitoring are collected in a centralised location.
Next Generation Service Deployments - servicEye Spider is used to assess performance of the infrastructure for new application deployments. Especially useful when actual deployment costs are an inhibiting influence as is the case in Telepresence deployments.
IPv6 migration. Test with mixed traffic flows IPv4 and/or IPv6. Support for Dual Stack Lite and 6rd. Assess if services are accessible for each IP address format.

servicEye Spider is used in the testing of billing counter accuracy. This 3rd party independent testing provides Regulators and Enterprises with an unbiased account of accuracy of a given network infrastructure.

servicEye Spider is used to create exact loads with precise timings on the network. Using Shenick’s ShenOSS, Service Providers can compare servicEye Spider and the accounting node's records. An example regulation may state that the calculated difference between the fixed duration and recorded duration is less than ±10ms.

Timing or usage metrics require exact measurements of the transactions between the two end-points. servicEye Spider is a closed system ensuring no interference or unwanted intrusions interfere with how a test is run, which may hamper the final performance results. servicEye Spider can reliably repeat tests and ensures each remote node consistently and precisely runs the same test.

servicEye Spider end-points are used to represent a number of stateful applications ranging from Telepresence, VoIP, IPTV, VoD, Email, Web, etc. VoIP services tend to have strict compliance orders and the accuracy of the timer counter is an important aspect in billing. servicEye Spider delivers the precise type tests requiring precision call start time and call duration for the various accounting nodes on the network path (e.g. BRAS, Proxy Servers, etc).

On completion of the controlled test, the data is collected via Shenick's ShenOSS web based management solution. Differences between all source counter nodes and the precise call specification of the Spider clients is calculated and displayed.

Spider clients are fully stateful. A Spider client's address assignment is static or may use a dynamic address technique (DHCP, PPPoE).
Spider clients support tunnelling applications such as Secure VPNs e.g. TLS/DTLS/SSL/IPSec
Spider clients are both IPv4 and IPv6 enabled.

servicEye Spider is used to determine the performance of a Telepresence service over a given network infrastructure or remote network path. servicEye Spider clients are used to dial into real meetings or conferences, from anywhere on the network.

servicEye Spider clients are used to represent a number of real 3rd party vendor Telepresence end-points. The Spider clients behave and react in a similar manner to that of real users. Spider clients are fully stateful and can be used to test various Telepresence principles such as "Who has the floor?" by interjecting in meetings as the loudest speaker. Stateful testing enables greater insight into the responsiveness of the network path and also the Telepresence management system.

Pre-deployment testing with servicEye Spider ensures that no costly errors are made when it comes to locating the various Telepresence meeting rooms or end-points on the network. A single Spider client Telepresence end-point costs considerably less than the full implementation of a Telepresence meeting room. Further benefits of servicEye Spider include the ability to quickly re-deploy the test configuration to other remote network locations.

servicEye Spider Telepresence clients provide users with performance measurements on all media flows associated with the call being received and transmitted from the remote network end-points.

Spider clients provide:

Per flow performance measurements on each of the unique audio and video flows associated with the meeting.
Stateful responses to protocols such as TCP, SIP, TIP (Telepresence Interoperability Protocol).
Security Attack Mitigation: Spider clients are used to inject traffic into the system in a bid to disrupt meetings.
